As you might imagine, we are a work in progress and are far from our grand opening.

You're probably wondering-- What IS this place?

The answer isn't an easy one, but I shall summarize. Our dedicated team of administrators, together with our appointed officers and deviantArt members have come together here under a single cause: Unity and Respect

This club is more of a group than it is a club, in that every single member is important. Every person has a shared responsibility.

I'm sure you are weary of the same things we are: Stock Artists versus Manipulators, Manipulators versus Stock Artists versus Equine Artists versus the entire Damned World. We intend to create a place where we can communicate without fear. All artists are welcome as long as they RESPECT each other.

Here's a small look at the programs we are putting together to assist all of you. Please read carefully.

Mentoring Program

Our mentoring program is similar to other mentoring programs here on dA. If you are new and looking for answers, or just have questions that you can't seem to find the answers to, you can note the club and one of our Mentor Volunteers will contact you personally to help you with your problem, or help you get back on your feet. Perhaps you are a new stock artist looking for advice, or perhaps you are a manipulator who just isn't sure how to credit or you're looking for advice on a particular technique. We have volunteers who are eager and willing to help. No one gets ignored.

NightWatch Program

Sometimes we encounter mistakes, and people forget to credit their stock providers. Even if we can identify the owners of the original stock, only the original stock authors can make the report. This can be overwhelming for someone who knows a piece is stolen, but cannot locate the source. We are developing a team in which all members of the resource guide can receive notices (unless you opt out) via note to help us identify the piece. We will then contact the proper owners so that they can decide what they would like to do. After all, it is their piece and we have no way of knowing if permission was granted or not. It is up for them to decide. We do not call names, we do not call out in journals. The matter is conducted professionally without antagonizing the offender. However, for those that would not credit their sources, We Are Watching.

Copyright Information Program

It occurs to us that many deviantArt users do not understand copyright. In the same vein they do not understand licenses or what their rights are to images they:
Used in a manipulation.
Submitted as a stock photo.
Intend to sell.
Require Model Releases for, and what these mystical Releases Are.

We intend to write a series of articles and tutorials to help everyone understand exactly what legalese you are dealing with in the art world. We intend to educate the general public on how to register your copyright, regardless of what type of art you submit here.
Registering your copyright could be one of the smartest things you've ever done as an artist. Never think it won't happen to you: It can, it has. We lived to tell the tale and pass on this knowledge.
